Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan is a country located in Central Asia and Eastern Europe, bordered by Russia to the north, China to the east, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan to the south, and the Caspian Sea to the west. The capital and largest city is Nur-Sultan (formerly Astana). The population of Kazakhstan is around 18 million people.

Kazakhstan is a presidential republic with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government. The country has a diverse population, with the Kazakhs being the largest ethnic group, followed by Russians, Uzbeks and Ukrainians. The official language is Kazakh, but Russian is also widely spoken. The majority of the population is Muslim, but there is also a significant minority of Russian Orthodox Christians.
