Kingwood's Town Center offers a traditional hometown feeling
With 20 distinct neighborhoods, more than 40 restaurants, various retail centers, 19 swimming pools, in excess of 240 acres of parks, more than 57 miles of greenbelt hike-and-bike trails, numerous medical facilities and hospitals, a superior school district and more than 75 community organizations, one might think the residents of this Friedswood Development Co. master-planned community had it all.
Friendswood Development Co. continues to offer more amenities to its growing resident population of 48,500, all the while maintaining the feel of a traditional home town. The friendly, family-oriented atmosphere is best characterized by Town Center in the heart of Kingwood.
Town Center offers area residents all the advantages of small town living while combining the needs and demands of modern day lifestyles. With everything from grocery stores and specialty shops, investment companies and real estate offices, coffee shops and an old fashioned barber shop, the community library, Lake Houston, YMCA, restaurants and dry cleaners, a child care facility, dentists and doctors, Town Center offers it all.
Retailers offer everything from hardware to handbags. Banks, specialty shops, cafes and professional office space can be found along Town Center's oak-lined streets. Kingwood's newest child care facility, medical center and gated apartment complex are also within Town Center, as are beautiful patio homes and an active adult and assisted living community.
Just north of Town Center is the Metro Park and Ride facility. Busy commuters come and go daily to the Greenspoint area and downtown Houston by this convenient form of mass transit. Read the paper, catch a few more minutes of sleep, prepare for that important presentation - commuters experience the ease and relaxation of the Metro Park and Ride system.
Another form of the Kingwood "mass transit" system is the 57 plus miles of greenbelt hike-and-bike trails which wind throughout Kingwood, linking all villages, pools, schools and Town Center.
"This is a very special place where families can enjoy the enormous value of living in a community where great care and thought goes into what is here. Kingwood is the perfect home for today's active family," said Stryjek. "We have community amenities to support a wide variety of lifestyle choices."
To visit Kingwood, "The Livable Forest," by traveling north on U.S. Highway 59 and exiting right on Kingwood Drive.
